The highest point of continental Spain is Mulhacén in the Sierra Nevada mountains. At 3,479 metres above sea level, snow is possible from late November until early May. Located less than 60 miles from Motril on the Costa Tropical, one can consider skiing in the mountains and swimming in the sea on the same day! It takes 80 minutes to drive from Villa Encina to the slopes near Granada. At the foot of the slopes is the resort village - Pradollano. There are lots of shops, a supermarket, cafes, bars, restaurants

and nightclubs. There are places to hire ski equipment and there are ski schools and lockers. In total there are 70 miles of skiing runs. For non-skiers, there is an ice rink, toboggans, donuts and ski bikes. During the summer, the mountains offer activities such as walking, horse riding, cycling and hiking.
